Design, Engineering, and Construction / Protective Device Coordination

Protective Device Coordination Chart

Proper coordination of the electrical system’s protective devices is critical to facility operations.  With the incorporation of sensitive ground fault detection for electrical services, nuisance tripping of the service mains’ electrical device can be prevented with proper coordination of “downstream” protective devices.  Ground fault sensors associated with the electrical system provide excellent personnel protection against fatal electrocutions; however they do require detailed review and proper device selection for “downstream” protective devices.  With the use of SKM Power Tools Engineering Software, we can provide a comprehensive review of your current system, identify uncoordinated devices and provide corrective measures to allow proper synchronization.
